Finer Finance is Shining a Spotlight on Finer Women who are
Accounting & Finance Professionals!
Trina D. Murphy is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Xi Mu Zeta Chapter, from the state of Illinois and the “Greatest” Great Lakes Region! She is currently the appointed Great Lakes Regional Budget and Finance Chair.She has also served as Tamias of her local chapter as well as Ways and Means chair.She has conducted numerous workshops on both Zeta and personal finance to the Sisterhood. In 2017, she was recognized as Zeta of the Year in her local chapter.
Trina was initiated into the illustrious Alpha Alpha chapter in 1992 on the campus of Chicago State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting.She later received a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from Keller Graduate School of Management.
She recently transitioned from the role of Accounting Manager to the newly formed DSO-Investments team where she is the Lead (Manager) for a mid-sized public consulting firm. Over her career, Trina has held many positions and leadership roles which have encompassed areas of expertise in accounting, auditing/Sox compliance, statutory reporting, and billing/collections through the insurance/reinsurance and consulting industries.
In addition to serving for Zeta, Trina has held various positions with the National Association of Black Accountants, which included 2nd Vice-President of the Chicago chapter, and was recently a NKO Mentor with her consulting firm.
Trina takes most pride in being a proud mother to her 6-year-old daughter, Brianna, who is an active member of the Pearlettes auxiliary.
