Finer Women in Finance!
Finer Finance is Shining a Spotlight on Finer Women who are
Accounting & Finance Professionals!
Tiffany Coleman was initiated in the Fall of 2001 via Upsilon Lambda Chapter at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and is the Immediate Past President of Alpha Phi Zeta Chapter, in Richmond, VA, that is the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the Electrifying Eastern Region, also affectionately known as the region "Where It All Began"! Tiffany earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Virginia Tech and has a Master's of Science in Accounting with a Concentration in Controllership from Strayer University.
Today, she is a Senior Accountant for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, a central bank with a government component. Her responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports. She develops and reconciling ledgers, verifying expenditures, analyzing business operations, financial commitments and obligations. This also includes completing a variety of routine and complex accounting and budgeting functions to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting standards, Federal Reserve policies, and best practices.
Tiffany's role as an accountant is critical, because it is directly attributable to and has impact on the financial records of various departments and the bank's financial statements. She must ensure that the bank's financial statements are accurate and reliable as a matter of assurance to the general public and stakeholders that the Federal Reserve has a safe and sound financial system. She says, "A fiscally sound and stable financial statement means a fiscally sound and stable business/organization."
We see you Soror Coleman! Thank you for sharing and for being Finer in Finance!
