Finer Finance is Shining a Spotlight on Finer Women who are
Accounting & Finance Professionals!
Karla Munden is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated; Delta Kappa Zeta Chapter in the State of North Carolina, where they are "Keeping it Finer"! North Carolina is in the Electrifying Eastern Region, also affectionately known as the region "Where It All Began"!
A native of Hampton, Virginia, Karla attended the College of William and Mary where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. She later attended the University of Phoenix, and earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration. In 2014 she was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America by Savoy Magazine.
Today, Karla is a Senior Vice President and Chief Audit Executive for a Financial Services Corporation. As to the importance of the Internal Audit profession, she says, "Our role as Internal Auditors serves as the eyes and ears for the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. We also serve company management by identifying and detecting control weaknesses that could result in a loss for the organization or increased legal, operational, reporting or strategic risk for the organization."
In addition to serving Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Karla serves on other Boards of Directors, including the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Advisory Board for the National Association of Black Accountants, where she serves as Chief Executive Sponsor and Advisor. She has also proudly served our country, as a member of the United States Navy.
